The Gospel Initiative is the Evangelistic arm of the New Covenant Foundation, an approved 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. This initiative was established so we could partner with the Gedeo people of Southern Ethiopia for the purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A little over 50 years ago, the Gospel was preached to these people. It has brought a rich harvest among some of the poorest people in the world. Today, believers in this tribe number about 300,000. It is their desire to take the Gospel to the unreached tribes throughout Ethiopia and the rest of Africa. It is our desire to help them accomplish this goal.

Our Goals

The Kale Hewot church in Ethiopia has some simple evangelism goals we want to help them achieve.

• Reach Southern Ethiopia.
• Reach all of Ethiopia.
• Reach all of Africa.

Because Ethiopia has never been colonized, many of the African nations look to Ethiopia as their model of what they can and should be. It is because of this that it it realistic to believe that Ethiopia itself, is key to reaching all of Africa.

Our goal is simply to partner with the Kale Hewot (Word of Life) Church in reaching their country and their continent for Christ. Their evangelists are ready to be sent. They have been selected and trained by the leadership in their churches to whom they are accountable for ministry.

Unfortunately because of the extreme poverty in the region and the recent droughts, there is no way for the church to support all of these men.

While it would cost several thousand dollars to support a missionary from our country to work in Ethiopia, we can support these national evangelists for $170 a month ($10 is for administration and funds transfer fees).

Just think, any individual, family, small group, church, or group of churches can reach an entire village or people with the good news of Christ! Anybody and everybody can make a big difference.

We are looking for 1 year and 3 year commitments of support. This is how long it takes to plant a church in a village. Please pray about your part in reaching the unreached for Christ.
